POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
         Fifty member law firm is recruiting for a law librarian
to manage library resources and to conduct legal research. The
law firm is based in Anchorage, Alaska, with offices in Juneau,
Fairbanks, and Washington, D.C. The firm has a general civil
practice including commercial and corporate litigation, personal
injury, employment, natural resources, bankruptcy, civil rights,
insurance, property and Native law.
          RESPONSIBILITIES:
          (1) develop and implement an automated system for the
              administration, maintenance and management of the
              firm's library resources;
          (2) provide reference and research support services
              including online searching, interlibrary loan,
              legislative history research, and investigative
              research;
          (3) provide ressearch training to paralegals, clerks,
              associates and partners.
           REQUIREMENTS:
           ALA-accredited MLS; high degree of competence in
           on-line searching; ability to choose and implement
           automated systems; familiarity with legal publishers;
           effective analytical and communication skills;
           experience with training and assisting legal
           researchers. PREFER: several years of experience
           with a law firm and/or JD
