According to the Encyclopedia Britannica's entry on Lewis Carroll,
there have been speculations that Carroll's interest in photographing
children, which included nude studies, was the result of "impure
motives." The entry also states, however, that there is no evidence
to support these speculations. The entry makes no mention of Carroll
ever having been formally accused of pedophilia, much less convicted.
