I guess what needs to be conveyed, is two things:

1) anything a student gets from an academic setting is not free, it is all
paid for. In certain circumstances, it is paid for dearly!!! Look over your
bill when paying your tuition, and if it is an educational aid, take it and
use it to the fullest and to your benefit, but.......(this takes us to 2...

2) in the case of these on line tools used, the student needs to realize that,
yes, while in school it is free and it should be used for educational
purposes. However, they should also be taught that they should not take
full advantage of these tools, because they do get very expensive,
literally by the hour! Of course, as I have been taught by a librarian
in a law firm (who sees these newly graduated lawyers quite often), that
you could tell them 'til they're blue in the face that it will cost, but
the only way they will learn is when they get their first bill!! Hence,
in this respect, these tools are not free either!!!
