HEAD OF TECHNICAL SERVICES

Description of Position: Supervises all technical services operations for a Law
Library of approximately 600,000 volumes. Has primary responsibility for policy
making and personnel matters for Cataloging, Acquisitions/Serials and Processing
Departments and collection development duties for the Law Library. Supervises
three law librarians and a staff of six para-professionals. As part of the
senior management team Head of Technical Services is the liaison to all other
library departments for technical services matters.

Qualifications: Master's degree in librarianship from an ALA accredited
institution and five years academic library experience required. Familiarity
with AACR II, RLIN and online cataloging routines required. Strong management
skills and supervisory experience are essential. Knowledge of Innovative
Interfaces system is highly desirable. J.D. or legal experience preferred.
Must be able to work with other staff in a cooperative management situation.

Salary Range: Librarian -- 100% time: $47,124 -- 65,340 depending on
qualifications and experience.
