                        Director of the Law Library

        The University of Pittsburgh School of Law invites applications
and nominations for the position of Director of the Barco Law Library.
The successful candidate must possess both a J.D. from an ABA-accredited
institution and an M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited institution.
        The Director reports directly to the Dean of the School of Law and
is responsible for the total operation of the law library, including
planning, budget administration, collection development, management of
staff and library professionals, and the development of automated
services. The successful candidate will be expected to articulate a
vision for the future and direction of the law library and should be a
proven professional administrator with substantial experience in academic
law and library management, a strong commitment to scholarship and the
ability to work and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and
staff. A thorough knowledge of and experience in the use of technology to
enhance library services is required.
