Florida Administrative decisions are now available through Darby
Publishing on CD-ROM. The CD also contains the Florida Statutes and
Florida Administrative Code. The annual subscription is approximately
$1,400. The software used is "Search Express."
An alternative is Harrison Publishing's forthcoming CD-ROM with exactly
the same products running on FOLIO, which is to my way of thinking, a
much superior product. Their cost is $ 69.00 per month.
I have reviewed and used the Darby product and find it difficult to use.
I am awaiting the Harrison product and hope that because we are all
becoming accustomed to FOLIO, searching will be easier and more
standardized.
Both products come from the tapes provided by the Florida Department of
Administrative Hearings. They have also promised an online version
directly through them sometime after they convert to a UNIX system. In
the meantime, I will go with the Harrison (FOLIO) version when it becomes
available at the end of July.
