I just today received another unsolicited shipment from Lawyers Coop, 114
U.S. L.ed.2d INTERIM VOLUME.
The cost of this interim volume is $35.70 (incl. IL tax and handling).
While the justification of publishing interim volumes in their Supreme
Court series is perhaps valid: small advance sheets do become disarranged
or lost from the shelves; also preliminary annotations and other Lawyers
Coop editorial features are included.
Lawyers Coop intends to ship through 119 L ed. 2d by the end of the year.
The problem is that, once again, they have shipped this title wholly
unsolicited, adding at least $200 in unplanned budgeting per set owned.
Librarians may wish to consider whether or not to retain the interim
volumes (published in a different color from the final volumes for ready
identification), or to cancel that portion of their subscriptions.
