Law-libbers -- Chuck's right. As one who sent him a private
"amen," I'll make it public and second his remarks. It's not
as though this "receipt confirmation" mess hasn't happened here
before -- everyone has had plenty of time to fix it. Unsophis-
ticated as I am about the mysterious workings of e-mail
(especially here at SMU, where the Computer Center changes our
e-mail package every few months just to drive us crazy), if I
saw one of those blasted messages coming from my mailbox, I
would unsubscribe until I (or the computer gurus) could be sure
it would never happen again. Extreme response, perhaps, but
those messages really are annoying. At least this exchange has
provided us all with good advice about eliminating the problem
once and for all.
