Director's Role in Technology

We would like to have a better grasp of the developing trend, if any,
of the role academic law library director's play in their school's
technology programs. For example, we would be interested in learning
whether directors are responsible for all of their school's computer
operations, all academic (i.e. nonadministrative) computer operations, all
library-related computer operations or part of the library's computer
operations? We would also be interested in learning whether library
directors need to get approval of computer-related decisions, for what
kinds of issues and from whom (the dean, an associate dean, a
technology committee)? Finally, we would be interested in learning
whether your official title in the law school refers to your technology
role? We would appreciate responses and, if we discern any trends,
will share the information with our colleagues.
         Thank you very much.
