RE: Report of meeting and follow up
DATE: January 23, 1995
At the request of the ABA, I recently attended the meeting of U.S. and African law deans to
set up the above program. My remarks to the group are reproduced below.
The African deans will travel to the U.S. in April for an orientation at NYU and visits to
two U.S. law schools each.
Prior to their visit we'd like to finalize the questionnaire I've drafted and begin on the
remainder of the agenda which the group identified. I'd appreciate your suggestions,
comments and corrections, as well as volunteer help. I'm especially interested in someone's
volunteering to do an OCLC search and unionlist compilation of titles listed by the African
law schools and a recommended list of civil law materials in English for an Ethiopian law
library engaged in training provincial officials in law, and "economics" (accounting, finance,
management.) They have a $75,000 budget.
