Open House for Law Librarians attending ALA Midwinter in
Philadelphia
Date: Saturday, February 4, 1995
Time: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Place: The new Biddle Law Library at the University of
Pennsylvania Law School
One year ago we had just moved into the 4+ floor Biddle Law
Library in the Law School's Nicole E. Tanenbaum Hall. We
celebrated then, and we are still celebrating. Won't you join
us for hors d'oeuvres at an informal reception if you are going
to attend ALA Midwinter? We promise a good tour of the
library's bells and whistles and a relaxed couple of hours with
Biddle librarians.
Of course, if you can't make the Saturday afternoon affair, come
and see us anyhow. You may have to forego the hors d'oeuvres,
but the welcome mat will still be out.
Directions: Tanenbaum Hall fronts on Sansom Street between 34th
Street and 36th Street. Enter opposite the entrance to Moravian
Street. I would feel safe taking public transportation at this
time on a Saturday afternoon.
By cab from center city: $4-6.
By bus: Take either the 42 or the 21 bus and get
off on 34th Street. From the corner of 34th and
Walnut, go one block north to Sansom Street (Sam
Goody store is on corner), then west or left
two-thirds of a block to the Law School. Fare is
$1.50 exact change. The trip takes about 10
minutes by bus.
By subway: Take the Market Frankford Line (the Blue
Line) from center city stops at Market and 5th,
Market and 8th, or Market and 15th. Exit the
subway at 34th and walk south 2 blocks south to
Sansom, turn right on Sansom. The entrance to the
Law School is two-thirds the distance between 34th
and 36th Streets. Fare is $1.50 exact change. The
trip takes 5 minutes.
The Law School walk-in address is 3443 Sansom but there is no
address on the building. For your return trip, there is a cab
stand at the hotel across the street from the Law School and the
bus stop is only half a block from the School.
