I'd like to respectfully request that the nominees for AALL office
provide us with a brief statement summarizing their opinion on the
desirability of a public domain database and citation system, and
AALL's role in promoting such a system. I skimmed the statements
provided in the AALL newsletter, but I don't believe the subject
is mentioned. Since I think it is a very important issue, I don't
feel informed enough to cast my vote without knowing how the nominees
stand.
I'm not trying to force each nominee to "enter the fray" against
their will in terms of the list discussion, I would just appreciate
an addendum to the newsletter statements. If the next newsletter
will be out before we vote, I wouldn't mind seeing the statements
there, rather than the list, if that would be preferred.
