Creative Uses Part II

Let me add something to my previous message. Although my heavy use of LEXIS
to trace the sources of quotations for my book, The Oxford Dictionary of
American Legal Quotations, was not particularly creative, another use I made
of LEXIS was more novel. I did lots of searches in the case law and law
review files for phrases like "famous quotation" or "well-known remark" or
"often quoted" or "frequently quoted" and came up with thousands of instances
where a judge or law review author spotlighted something as a famous quote.
This turned out not to be as productive a method as I had hoped, but it did
yield hundreds of quotes which were usable for the book.
