First, I want to thank everyone who responded to my question. As I
indicated in my original note, the question came from a fellow librarian
who does not access to Internet. It is however something I am very
interested in also. The response I got was good.
The second point I want to make is in response to the numerous request
that I put the results on the list (which of course I am doing now). The
reason I orginally requested that you respond directly to me is that if
you're like me you are on at least three or four list. And when I pull in
my mail each morning I get anywhere from 100 to 200 notices. I didn't want
to contribute to putting mail in someones box if they were not interested.
However...the response I got requesting me to put the result on the list
was so great that this is the only efficient way I could respond to
everyone.
Third point: Some of the names listed here will have a "*" next to them.
That indicates that the person did not contact me directly but rather
their name was given to me. Please keep that in mind if you contact them.
I expect to eventually contact some of these people to verbally discuss
their likes and dislikes involving Bar Coding. I expect you will probably
want to do the same thing. I would suggest an E-mail or letter first. I
did not contact anyone to let them know I was putting their name on this
list. I do not think anyone will mind, but who knows.

Final point. I know a lot of you know Allen Story. And, I know that this
location is listed in the system under his name. Allen hasn't sent out
messages over the internet...I have (Sid Kaskey). I got a number of notes
from people who apparently thought they were corresponding with Allen. I
do not want to mislead anyone. I do sign my notes.
