Our computer systems person is telling us that our library staff does not
need 486 computers, that 386s would meet our needs. We are trying to upgrade
staff computers used for wordprocessing, Lexis and Westlaw, database
creation, CompuServe/email, etc. We are currently not using Windows, but plan
to convert to Windows software as soon as possible.
I would appreciate any advice from those who have upgraded or compared.
I should also mention that we hope to network the library computers within the
next year when we get Innopac.
