Added volume processing (for which cataloging intervention isn't
required) and volumes returned from the bindery are in the
process of being transferred to paraprofessionals under the
supervision of our serials librarian as training, money and
staff permit. The position handling those used to report
directly to the Head of Technical Services, but I think that
having added volumes and periodical volumes included as part
of the serials workflow makes more sense given our setup. Please
let me know if you want more info; I can elaborate offline. Isn't
automation a great reason to re-evaluate all these nagging
questions?!
