Cornell Trek--The Final Frontier?

Lately, I've been touting the Washington & Lee University guest site/gopher
(which is a great resource!), but recently I took a "trek" through the
Cornell University Law School gopher and found some really interesting stuff
there also.

To get there, you telnet fatty.law.cornell.edu and login: gopher. You then
get the following menu:

1. About This Site (Cornell Law School).
2. Cornell Law School Information/
3. Directory of Legal Academia/
4. Discussions and Listserv Archives/
5. U.S. Law: Primary Documents and Commentary/
6. Foreign and International Law: Primary Documents and Commentary/
7. Other References Useful in Legal Education and Research/
8. Government Agencies: Information and Reports/
9. Information Services: Academic Institutions/
10. Library Resources (online catalogs)/
11. Periodicals, News, and Journals/
12. Other Gophers and Information Services/
13. WAIS-based information/
14. Internet (FTP sources, Archie, listserv directory)/
15. Locators (where to find people and things)/
16. Miscellaneous/

If you choose "Discussions and Listserv Archives", you get access to about a
month worth of messages from the following electronic discussion groups:
Artificial Intelligence and the Law; EURO-LEX; INT-LAW; History of Law;
LAW-LIB; Mid-America AALL Chapter; TEKNOIDS. You also can do word searches
through the archives for these lists for postings on a particular topic.
This service is great for catching up on e-mail when you come back from the
holidays or vacation!

If you choose other paths, you get access to U.S. intellectual property laws,
the Maastricht Treaty, NAFTA, UNCED documents, the tables of contents of
International Legal Materials and the American Journal of International Law,
the CIA World Fact Book, various dictionaries, directories, etc.

So the Cornell gopher is another great resource to explore. Note that some
of the materials at Cornell are now also available via the W&L gopher (telnet
liberty.uc.wlu.edu, login: lawlib).

Happy trekking!
Lyo
