I am a librarian working in an academic law library in Canada.
We subscribe to C.J.S and Am. Jur. I was told that Am. Jur. should
replace C.J.S. and we should stop our subscription to C.J.S. The
reasons are two-fold: namely, i) Scopewise, Am.Jur.covers exactly
what C.J.S. covers and more, and ii) Am.Jur. is far more updated than
C.J.S.
Being a Canadian law librarian, my familiarity with these two research
tools is limited to how to use them. I never had a chance to compare
these two publications on a subject-by-subject basis. I am seeking
your advice on the pros and cons of this rationale.
Many thanks.
