Hello AALL Members --
I'm pleased to announce that the new _AALL Directory and Handbook_ is in
the mail and on its way to members; it was printed by CCH Inc. at their
facility in Clark, New Jersey, and delivered to the post office on Monday,
February 21. The new _Directory_ is being sent Book Rate, so you might
need to continue to be patient for a few more days before actually
receiving your copy.
I hope you will be pleased with the changes that have been incorporated
into the book. The problem some members experienced -- dialling a fax
number when intending to place a voice call -- has been corrected by
printing the voice phone numbers in bold type ... The e-mail addresses
have been reformatted, and every effort was made to avoid line-wrapping
them, as line breaks posed a problem for members unfamiliar with the
protocols of e-mail addresses ... The typeface is similar to the one used in
last year's edition, but has much more elegant and readable numerals ...
I could go on and on, waxing rhapsodic about the charms and beauties of the
new _Directory_, but I'll stop here and instead make a request: whatever you
like about the _Directory_, and whatever you don't like, please let me know.
We're already starting to plan for next year's version, and input from you --
the people actually using the book -- is invaluable. Thanks.
