Calling all AALL members who teach in Library Schools!!
I'd like to know who you are. I'm putting together the
Education Committee's program for the Seattle meeting. It's
a roundtable discussion called:
What Happens If They Close All the Library Schools? AALL's
Role in the Education of Future Law Librarians. It's on
Tuesday, July 12, 1993 at 10:15 a.m.
I have two requests.
1. Who would be interested in actively participating in the
discussion? That would be a commitment so I can include
your name in the program as a speaker/discussion
participant.
2. If you think you can come to the discussion and
particpate as Library School Educator, please let me know.
This is not a commitment.
I'd like to hear from you. Since I am not a Library
School educator, I am seeking information on the issues from
people who are.
Here's some questions (excerpted from the AALL program)
What effect will further library school closings have on law
librarians and AALL memebers? Who will educate and
train future law librarians? Will law librarianship
cease to exist as a profession? What should AALL's role be
in educating the law librarians of the 21st century?
Should AALL depend upon established academic programs to
educate and train law librarians in the 21st century?
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
