LAWNET and WASHLAW Facts#
LAWNET is the official American Association of Law Libraries
information system. WASHLAW is the name used to describe a
combination of online services and sources of potential interest
to the legal research community made available through the
courtesy of Washburn's Academic Computer Center and the Law
Library. LAWNET is a growing/evolving system and can be easily
edited/improved to meet needs of the members.
LAWNET includes ("tentative" and "approved" menus):
* Menu-driven file transfer capability providing a variety
of management and reference information
* AALL Archive materials/finding aids
* AALL Placement Materials
* Selected Pathfinders submitted by law students in recent
Advanced Legal Research seminars
* Selected Research Guides prepared by librarians (INTERNET)
* Internet email directories (though not the AALL directory)
* Links to over 60 registered law related Internet
Gopher/WEB/Other Servers via the Lynx interface that permits
emailing files to a local Internet address
* Internet Search Capability
* Law Librarian's Phone Book (Law-related Publishers,
Associations, Government Agencies, etc.)
* Federal Document Information
* Foreign Legal Materials
* A "Virtual" Law Reference desk
* Direct links to over 60 law library catalogs
* Listserv Information

(3) follow instructions on LAWNET menu

(1) telnet to acc.wuacc.edu

(3) follow instructions on WASHLAW menu
