The Legal Information Center of the University of Florida is seeking
applicants for the following position:

Title: Associate Librarian/Catalog Librarian

Responsibilities: Coordinate and supervise all cataloging and related
  processing operations. Includes original and copy cataloging, non-
  book formats, government documents, and foreign language materials.
  Assists in the formulation and implementation of in-house, campus
  wide, and state cataloging policies. Duties include ongoing maintenance
  of records in the state wide, NOTIS based, LUIS automated library
  system. Must be willing to work in coordination with the Florida
  Center for Library Automation (FCLA), and the University of Florida
  Smathers Library on all cataloging and related policy issues. The
  Legal Information Center uses OCLC, via SOLINET, as its primary
  cataloging utility, and the cataloger is responsible for the appro-
  priate entry and maintenance of all law library records. The
  University is an RLG member, and this position is responsible for all
  RLIN related activities. Cataloger is responsible for supervising
  one Library Technical Assistant, and several part-time student
  employees.

Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS degree, and 5 years of relevant
  library experience. Proven knowledge of AACR2, MARC format, OCLC/RLIN,
  LC rule interpretations, LC classification schedules (preferably in
  the K range), LC subject headings, and authority control standards.
  Experience with original cataloging required, proven ability to
  supervise copy cataloging operations. Experience with automated
  library systems is required. Proven oral and written communications
  skills, and ability to work effectively with library and law school
  staff. Supervisory experience is preferred. Willingness to serve
  on campus based and statewide library committees is required.
  Demonstrated record of active participation in professional
  associations, desire to publish, and willingness to be involved in
  public service activities is anticipated.

Description: 12-month tenure track appointment with faculty status.
  Reports to the Assistant Director for Technical Services. Salary
  range is $30,000-35,000. 22 days vacation and 13 days sick-leave
  per year. Retirement plan options, group health/dental plans, and
  insurance programs available. No local or state income tax.
