On January 17, 1995, Fran Jones will become the California State Law
Librarian. Fran comes to California from Arizona where she served as the
Director of the Maricopa County Law and President of the Arizona
Association of Law Libraries, a chapter of the American Association of Law
Libraries.
Fran has also held professional positions at the University of
Minnesota Law Library, Deloitte & Touche, IDS Financial, William Mitchell
College of Law Library, Hennepin County Library, and Saint Paul Public
Library.
Fran has a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, Masters in
Library Science from the University of Minnesota, and Bachelors Degree in
Library Science from the College of St. Catherine.
Judy Janes, Associate Director, University of California, Davis Law
School Library and I served on the State Law Librarian interview panel as
representatives of the law library community. We thank Kevin Starr, the
