Am I the only person who noticed (and questioned) the $50.00 shipping and
handling charge that CCH included for each renewal of the 1995 Standard
Federal Tax Reporter? I asked my account rep about this, especially in
light of the fact that CCH does not send a completely new set of volumes
each year. The explanation that I received this morning was that this
charge only represents 3% of the total invoice. Am I crazy or is this
totally irrelevant, particularly in light of the fact that there were no
shipping and handling charges added to any of the other renewals. Is this
CCH's way of recovering some of the revenue that they lose from offering
discounts on multiple sets of the tax service? If it is, someone in
Chicago had better review this decision because I have refused to pay
this charge (which amounts to about $1300).
Is anyone else in cyberspace as enraged about this as I am?
