Videotape copyright

Everyone -
Gee, it suddenly got very quiet out there so I guess we need
to change the subject. :) And it just so happens I have a question.
Our person in charge of MCLE (not me, thank goodness) asked whether we
could borrow videotapes from other firms to show for MCLE credit. It had
occurred to me before that perhaps a union list of videotapes would be
helpful, or simply some kind and cooperative
purchasing/borrowing arrangement with other firms, but I never did anything
about it.
I called a firm nearby and the librarian I talked with said she was
concerned about the copyright implications. It seems to me that as long as
we're not copying the videotape, we should be ok. But I did listen to the
AALL Copyright workshop last year, and I do seem to recall that copyright
worked a little differently with videotapes, so maybe there is a problem.
Does anyone have any information/comments on this?
By the way, if anyone knows of any MCLE videos that are particularly
good, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
