The Washburn Communications Law Society is an organized group
of law students dedicated to exploring emerging legal issues in the
field of Communications Law and all other areas of law relative to
modern communications methods and technologies. A major goal of
the group is to provide research and publication opportunities to
students interested in Communications Law and to offer focus and
specialization to students outside the required law school
curriculum.
In late November, the society will publish a news magazine
called "Telejurist," that will address numerous legal issues such
as electronic monitoring of employees in the workplace, the use of
multi-media technology during litigation and the medical malpractice
implications of telemedicine, to name a few. In all, more than 20
articles have been written for this first edition.
We are interested in your perspectives on communications
technology and some of the legal issues you may have had to deal with
in your various capacities as users of Internet or any other communications
technology. We hope you find our work interesting and provocative
and we look forward to your feedback.
Please sign on to our listserv to receive the first edition of
"Telejurist," which will be published two times a year. Hardcopy
versions are also available.
