Albert Brecht asks, interestingly:

Just a holiday thought. As you follow the various requests on
Lawlib to help locate info, fax text, etc., do you get the
feeling that lawlib is emerging as the national law library we
        have long talked about?

The answer is yes, I think, although there are the inevitable
qualifications. Some traditional library service functions are being
performed: there are some good sources, now, and increasingly the
techno-wizards are coming up with indexing and abstracting and
cataloging and finding aids which are better and better (they have a
ways to go, I think, unless anyone is willing to accept gopher as the
end of the line).

The users still are missing, though. Librarians are on here, but where
are the law students and judges and lawyers? How about plaintiffs and
defendants? I hope a future "virtual" national law library won't
exclude non-librarian users. I would say that lawlib is a very good
beginning but that it hasn't "emerged" quite yet.
