Federal Rules of Civil Procedure

Dear Law-Libbers

The Senate recessed for the year without approving any
legislation amending the proposed Civil Procedure Rules changes.
Therefore, all changes that the U.S. Supreme Court transmitted to Congress
in April ( see House Document 103-74) will take effect on December 1st.

BNA's published a couple of articles in their Daily Report for
Executives which gave a blow-by-blow account of the final, frenzied, failed
actions by the Judiciary committees. The articles are in the Nov. 24th
issue (Civil Discovery Bill Bogs Down; Revised Rules Take Effect Dec. 1 -
pgs. A-7 - A-8) and in the Nov. 26th issue (Efforts To Amend Discovery Bill
Break Down As Deadline Approach - pgs. A-10 - A-11). A correction to the Nov.
24th article is printed on page A-15 of the Nov. 26th issue.
