Can you help us put a lid on our delinquent list?
At the University of Wisconsin -- Law Library our deliquent list is ever
increasing. While we can place holds on students and hope eventually, they
will need to register, graduate or get transcripts. A large number on the
list are non-university patrons, over whom we have no control. We do ask
University Legal Services to send deliquents letters but it has little
effect.
Are there are academic libraries using front-end controls such as deposits or
final measures such as collection agencies to retrieve materials or payments
from non-university borrowers?
