despite the "flambe" tone of voice frequently found in this discussion,
it is nonetheless a discussion of crucial issues.
My appoach: If too busy, I simply zap the messages unread; if time does
permit, I skimread things for a piece of meaningful info. If not in the
mood for high-strung emotion, I just delete it with a yawn.
After all, we all use our delete keys in more general contexts to preserve
our "e-space" without fuss, so why not adopt the same stance in this one
c e r t a i n context we all know about...
