Well, my absolute favorite kid's book is _Every_Man_Heart_Lay_Down_ by
Lorenz Graham. The illustrated book is in every public library in which
I have ever looked for it. The story is told in the Liberian English.

If the story is great, the illustrations are also at least great.

If it were possible, I would "tell" you this story. My husband gets a
rash at the slightest hint of my telling this story. I will do it with
the slightest encouragement, and with no way of being derailed.

Get the book, it is a great story, well told and well illustrated.
