We would like to covert our current library catalog to an
automated system. Currently this library relies on a card
catalog system that is not the LC method, which I would also
like to convert too. My problem is that I am a reference
librarian not a cataloger, so I have called OCLC so they may
give me some guidance, but I also realize MARC records are
available on Dialog. Does anyone have any suggestions as to
where may I begin with planning this project and what software
programs may be best for a private law firm library with
potentially 40+ end-users. Almost all of which are not
computer literate. We are going up on a LAN within the year,
but I do not know yet if our administrator will put the catalog
on the LAN or have a stand alone. Thank you.
