I agree. Even if the people brought in by the contractor are librarians, in
this instance they will be the equivalent of scabs.
During the recent San Francisco newspaper strike, I asked this list for help
finding the Internet home page of the SF Examiner (put out by management) and
the SF Free Press (put out by the striking workers). A colleague in SF
courteously gave me both, but admonished me that linking to the Examiner home
page would be "crossing a virtual picket line."
I think we should adopt the same broad approach to the Baker & McKenzie scab
library, and refuse to cross the line by helping them.
