Mariano - No, thank-you. Count me out.
We have a well organized, respected, influential professional association
which could take some initiative on the Baker closing. It is a fine, perfectly
useable apparatus for these matters.
Although I am as shocked and dismayed as the rest of my colleagues at this,
it is quite unlikely that external pressure will force their hand. I predict
that once they begin to feel the effects of this obviously short-sighted
move, they will quietly rehire some of the staff.
