As you may know, Pauline Aranas has accepted the Directorship at
Vanderbilt and Paul George has accepted the Associate Librarian for
Research Services position at Harvard.

So we have some positions to fill.

To begin recruitment, I wanted to post these working position descriptions.

ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
Requirements: MLS (or equivalent) and JD; significant experience in
an academic law library. Supervision of Public Services consisting of 3
Reference Librarians, an Access Services Librarian, a Computer
Services/Systems Librarian, 2.5 Full-time support staff and 4.5 FTE
student assistants. Significant involvement in major computing
projects. Participates in various forms of teaching legal research.
Works closely with Director on all major projects including grant
proposals, budget preparation, etc. Interacts frequently with law
faculty regarding faculty interest profiles, computing, major projects,
etc. Excellent management and supervisory skills, and oral and written
skills. Good problem solving skills. Salary and benefits highly
competitive.

SENIOR REFERENCE LIBRARIAN or REFERENCE LIBRARIAN
Requirements: MLS (or equivalent) and JD; relevant law library
experience. The reference office consists of two other Reference
Librarians and a law student research assistant. Provides high level
reference/research services in a highly computerized environment to
students and very productive faculty. Significant teaching of legal
research including Lexis and Westlaw. Working knowledge of current
information technology. Strong service orientation. Excellent oral and
written communication skills. Interested in furthering the role that
reference/research can play in the teaching and scholarly mission of the
Law Center. Salary and benefits highly competitive.
