Currently, I access the Internet via a dial-up connection to a
local provider. The provider offers telnet, ftp, gopher and e-mail.
Along with an in-house computer committee, I am investigating
desk-top access to the Internet for all of our attorneys. The one
drawback, as you may already guess (!), is the difficulty of using
Internet, especially for novices.
Assuming I had a SLIP or PPP connection, I could load a browser
package to make life easier. But someone told me that I can access
Mosaic now simply by telneting to a site that runs it. Can anyone shed
any light on this? I do not know of any telnet site that runs the
software.
The person wasn't very specific, but I thought of Cello (Cornell)
and Lynx (Washburn) when he said this.
