The following appears as a quotation, but without attribution, in Minister
of Home Affairs v. Fisher [1980] A.C. 319, 328 (P.C. 1979), an opinion of
Lord Wilberforce.
"The austerity of tabulated legalism"
Would anyone know the source of the quote. One informed source believes it
might be from Cardozo; another thinks it might be Holmes or Gray.
I've checked all the likely sources in LEXIS/NEXIS and everything points
back to the quotation found in Lord Wilberforce's opinion, in which he
includes the quotation without giving its source.
Any help will be gratefully accepted.
