Re: WASHLAW - a new law-related Internet Resource

Washburn University School of Law Library is pleased to announce Internet
accessibility of selected law-related information services. WASHLAW is the
name used to describe a combination of online services and sources of
potential interest to the legal research community made available through the
courtesy of Washburn's Academic Computer Center and the Law Library:
* Menu-driven file transfer capability providing a variety of management
and reference information (e.g., policy statements, procedure manuals,
position descriptions, miscellaneous information files)
* Selected Pathfinders submitted by law students in recent Advanced
Legal Research seminars
* Selected Research Guides prepared by librarians
* Internet email directories for Washburn law students, Washburn faculty
& staff, the Mid-America Association of Law Libraries
* Links to all registered Internet Gopher Servers via user-friendly Lynx
interface that permits emailing files to a local Internet address
* Law Librarian's Phone Book (Law-related Publishers, Associations,
Government Agencies, etc.)
* Government Documents Shelf List
* Reference File Index
* Links to Washburn Campus Information System and Library Catalog
(Innovative Interfaces) containing holdings for the School of Law and
University Libraries (gap tape of June-Dec 1992 should be loaded by June 1)

(1) telnet to acc.wuacc.edu
(2) at Login: prompt, type washlaw and press enter
(3) follow instructions on WASHLAW menu

Lynx is a browser for hypertext documents stored in Gopher or World Wide
Web servers. Lynx supports its own hypertext format, and can also
function as either a Gopher or World Wide Web clinet. Lynx was
devloped by Academic Computing Services of The University of Kansas and
is available via anonymous ftp from kuhub.cc.ukans.edu.
