At Marquette WIN was only mentioned in passing during the second required
class taken by 1Ls. More indepth WIN classes were offered separately.
I agree that the promotion behind WIN is misleading. We have found that
when two people conduct the same exact search they may get different
results. Certainly such results do not promote effective CALR. In addition,
using boolean searching allows students to more easily learn LEXIS.
We switch every year as to which service is taught first, but having
both systems similarly searched is very good for comparison purposes.
