Student E-Mail & Internet Usage

Several weeks ago I posed a few questions about how
students used e-mail and Internet resources. I received
several replies and several requests to post the results.

Question 1:

Do you maintain the e-mail accounts within your
law center, or do you rely on your campus computing
organization?

Rely on campus computing - 7 institutions
Within the law center - 2 institutions

Question 2:

How does your faculty feel about receiving student e-mail?
Do students abuse the privilege?

Faculty don't seem to mind. There is little abuse
by students. [Editorial comment: E-mail is very
easy to track and the student privilege can be quickly
        removed! gs]

Question 3:

Do your students make much use of Internet resources other than
Lexis and Westlaw, i.e., online catalogs, anonymous ftp, etc?

Nope, not yet. "For the majority of our students, most are
(nay, seem) happy at just having e-mail."

And there you have it....
