(This is cross-posted to INT-LAW and EURO-LEX)

At the meeting of the American Society of International Law (ASIL) this past
week in Washington, D.C., I met the President of the European Law Students'
Association, Andrej Plenkovic. He had some publications with him which I
thought you might be interested in:

_Legal Studies in Europe 1992-93_ (Brussels: Etablissements Emile Bruylant,
S.A., Rue de la Regence 67, 1000 Bruxelles, 1993). 951p. ISBN
2-8027-0828-7. This book was compiled by ELSA with the support of the
European Commission (ERASMUS), IBM International Education Centre, the Law
Society of England and Wales.

_Legal Studies in Europe_ is arranged by country, has a map of each country,
and within each country is included general almanac-type information
(including most popular sports :-)), legal information (number of lawyers,
career possibilities for law graduates, legal structure, access to legal
profession(s) by foreigners), superior and legal studies information (lists
addresses and telephone numbers of universities with law
faculties/departments, general number of law students for each country, info
re the structure of legal studies, grading, regulations re admissions and
foreign studies procedures, recognition of degrees abroad, then for each
city, background re the city, specific listing for law schools such as
persons in charge, courses offered/curriculum, number of professors, what
areas of law the faculty is famous for, costs, study periods, addresses,
phone and fax numbers of law student associations...).

Note that _Legal Studies in Europe 1992-93_ complements the _Guide to
Education and Career Development in International Law_ published by the
International Law Students Association (ILSA) in 1991. ILSA also publishes
the _ILSA Journal of International Law_ and a quarterly newsletter called _Ad
Rem_ (very good quality!).

Saluti!
Lyo.
