At the University of Oregon Law Library we access Lexis via Internet in
our office computers. We plan to use Internet for student computers
also through the computer lab network but their are still some bugs.
The problem of being dumped off Lexis which others have mentioned is
the main problem and there is also problems with the Internet itself-
transmissions get jammed and text will scroll on the screen and stop
in mid-sentence and continue after several seconds. We understand that
that should be cleared up by early next year. Lexis is working on
software to allow Lexis for Windows via Internet but their are alot of
problems and it hasn't been released yet. Westlaw has developed
software and we should get to look at it soon. I'd be happy to answer
any specific questions about our setup.
