Just a reminder: If your library is a federal depository, you must allow
the general public to use the depository materials. If your library posts
a guard at the entrance, as some libraries do, this may hinder or even
intimidate the public from using depository materials. (Once a user has
gained access to the library for the purpose of using the depository
collection, it is difficult to keep track of the person, especially if
your library or the reading room encourages self-service.)
So--for librarians who are federal depositories and are overrun by non-law
users, just how DO you cope?
